Mike is a registered Health Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist.  He runs his own health psychology company, specialising in health literacy, workplace health and behavioural change.  Prior to this, he worked in the Public Health team at Stoke-on-Trent City Council. Whilst at the Council he was responsible for coordinating the city’s health literacy strategy and plan.  Health Psychology is something of a second career for Mike. In his first, more corporate career, he worked for a large multinational management consultancy, a large UK bank, a utilities company, and for himself, specialising in consulting and training in people change management, facilitation and creative thinking.

Mike is currently working on the Health Literate Organisation programme of work with Health Education England which is focused on supporting health and care organisations become more health literate in the way they support service users and patients. He is also currently supporting the Community Health Champion project in Stoke-on-Trent. Mike presents at conferences and lectures on health literacy at several universities.
