The 5th Health Literacy UK Conference
Thank you to all the participants who made our 5th Health Literacy Conference such a resounding success!!
We opened with a welcome from Dr Paddy Woods, deputy CMO of Northern Ireland, who set an enthusiastic tone for day. He was followed by Dr Heide Weishaar’s excellent keynote speech, giving us the background to the German Health Literacy Action Plan and insight into implementation.
After a morning of parallel presentations from a number of diverse fields, Professor Don Nutbeam talked us through his fascinating career in health literacy research and practice.
The afternoon workshops gave delegates the opportunity to meet colleagues from varied disciplines, as well as to share ideas and plan potential projects! Professor Jo Protheroe, Chair of Health Literacy Group UK, concluded the conference by sharing her thoughts and reflections on the day.
